Our policy:
We, at Al Salama Hospital shall provide quality care which is integrated with the hospital mission. We are committed to ensure care that is accessible, safe, effective, efficient, timely and appropriate. We strive to meet the needs and expectations of our patients, their families and others whom we serve. We consider that quality and safe care our top priority and therefore we strive to eliminate unsafe practice by:
- Providing an environment that is clean
- Conforming with safety regulations & legislation
- Fostering of professionalism
- Ongoing quality improvement training program that empowers our staff, patients and their families
- Involving outpatients and their families in decision making about their treatment in order to achieve care that is acceptable to our culture, with minimum cost possible, without compromising the quality of service we provide.
- Exercising a system of sharing knowledge and responsibilities with the key aim of continuously improving our system and processes based on measureable objectives.

OUR FUNCTIONS:
Risk Management :
- Reporting & investigating incidence on daily basis
- Monitoring of the occurrence & management of adverse events
- Performing root cause analysis
- Taking corrective actions
- Implementing preventive actions.
Performance Improvements :
- Selection of Key performance indicators for each hospital department.
- Collecting data
- Analyzing data
- Implementing performance improvement initiatives
- Liaison with other departments and staff throughout the hospital to ensure that QA system is functioning properly. Where appropriate, the quality manager advises on changes and their implementation and provides training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality
Overseeing the activities of hospital committees :
- Pharmacy & therapeutic committee
- Medical staff committee
- Patient & Family rights committee
- Operation room committee
- Mortality & Morbidity committees
Formulating & updating of Hospital policies & procedures.
Implementation of Joint Commission International principles in the hospital practice.

- Our efforts were crowned by acquiring the ISO 9001/2008
- Still , we are striving for excellence by implementing the Joint Commission International with the intention of acquiring the JCI accreditation by the end of 2011.
