Control of infection is an integral part of everyone’s life, but it is particularly important within healthcare settings. Preventing infection is a never – ending process within the hospital where new challenges and situations emerge everyday.
Infection control permeates every aspect of our daily hospital operations; from evaluating products, to construction design and planning and facility waste management, to monitoring disinfection and sterilization processes and patient care activities.

At ALSALAMA HOSPITAL, we aim to provide high quality healthcare
by protecting our patients, visitors and staff members from exposure to infection.
Our hospital provides effective preventive measures including a safe environment and training of all staff combined with effective timely treatment and containment of infection if detected.
Activities
1- Providing advice to staff members on infection prevention and control on a 24 hours basis.
This includes advice on individual patients and control of outbreaks of infections and advice on decontamination of the environment and equipment.
2- Providing on-going education and training in infection prevention and control to all staff members.
3- Maintaining their skills necessary to ensure up to date and evidence- based infection control practice and continuing professional development.
4- Preparing and implementing policies , protocols and guidelines on infection prevention, control and surveillance in collaboration with other relevant staff members including the Quality Improvement team and Clinical Pharmacy Department.
